Takeaway pizza chain Papa John’s has launched its Christmas menu for 2019 and it includes a vegan pizza with festive toppings and a vegan-friendly dessert.

Inspired by traditional trimmings you’d enjoy at Christmas dinner, the vegan Festive Feast pizza is topped with a red wine gravy base, plant-based cheese and roasted vegetables including seasonal sprouts and finished with a drizzle of cranberry sauce.

Putting a twist on a festive favourite, the pizza giant has launched vegan-friendly mince pie scrolls made from fresh dough rolled with spiced mincemeat and topped off with a generous drizzle of icing.

As a Christmas treat, Papa John’s is also offering a Festive Meal Deal for £19.99 which includes any large pizza and two classic sides.

‘Christmas is Better Shared’

Keen to give back this Christmas, the company has partnered with homeless charity Crisis and will donate 50p from every purchase of the Festive Meal Deal.

Speaking about the new Christmas campaign, Papa John’s Marketing Director, Giles Codd, commented: “We’re really proud to be working with Crisis this Christmas, a charity that aims to eradicate homelessness and provides vital services to people in the UK at one of the hardest times of the year.”

“Our ‘Christmas is Better Shared’ campaign highlights the fact that this should be a time for being with people and looking after each other, and what better way to do it than over a pizza with friends and loved ones.

“With several ways to donate to charity including the newly created festive merchandise store, we are hoping to smash our fundraising targets in order to help Crisis continue the fantastic work they do not just at Christmas, but throughout the whole year.”

Jon Sparkes, Chief Executive of Crisis, added: “Our society is stronger when we work together, and by working with partners, such as Papa John’s, we are able to raise awareness of homelessness and vital funds so that we can deliver our services ranging from education to housing and employment support.”

Papa John’s launched its first vegan menu earlier this year featuring three brand new cheesy vegan pizzas and marmite and cheese scrolls. It has since added new additions to the menu including cinnamon scrolls and a hot dog pizza,
