Oumph! launches smoky bacon-style bits at Morrisons

Swedish meat alternative brand Oumph! has a new vegan bacon alternative to give customers looking for plant-based alternatives to bacon even more choice

Award-winning Swedish meat alternative brand Oumph! has launched a new product in Morrisons supermarket that’s perfect for adding to pasta dishes – Oumph! Smoky Bits.

The delicious plant-based alternative to bacon is made from wheat for a meaty texture that is perfect for adding to pasta dishes, salads and breakfasts.

“Oumph! Smoky Bits is versatile and suitable for anyone who’s been looking for a really good plant-based alternative to bacon or ham”, says Victoria Norviit, Brand & Category Manager at Oumph! in Sweden. “We believe that Oumph! Smoky Bits will open up new plant-based recipe opportunities and menu ideas”.

Nick Jacobs, Head of Sales at Oumph! in the UK, said: “We are delighted that Morrisons is adding three Oumph! products to its plant-based range and in particular that they are the first UK retailer to launch our delicious Oumph! Smoky Bits.”

Oumph! first launched Smoky Bits in Sweden earlier this year alongside the versatile Oumph! Bangers sausages which can be fried, cooked in the oven, barbecued or grilled on an open fire.

Oumph! is food from the plant kingdom. Available in unseasoned editions and with seasonings as well as the as The Oumph! Pizza and The Oumph! Burger – which was recently awarded Vegan Burger of the Year, by Vegan Food & Living.
