Oreo has launched a range of brand new flavours, including a deliciously spiced carrot cake flavour.
Oreo’s are of the best-loved ‘accidentally vegan‘ treats, and they’ve just released a brand new flavour in time for Easter – carrot cake.
Reviewing the new cookies, Thrillist reviewer Lee Breslouer noted that they manage to perfectly capture the complex mix of warming spices typically found in a carrot cake.
He stated: “Those food scientists at Oreo have somehow managed to capture every single note of a carrot cake and put it inside one Oreo cookie. Each rounded marvel features two carrot cake cookies on the outside and cream cheese frosting inside. After a few bites, your brain will be confused as to why the carrot cake you’re eating is so crunchy.”
Food reviewer Junk Banter was thrilled with the launch of the new flavour, taking to Instagram to write: “I’m so happy I could cry. I may not have won the $500,000 prize when I submitted this flavor for the My Oreo Creation Contest, but I couldn’t care less because Nabisco has finally paired my favorite cake with my favorite cookie to produce new Carrot Cake Oreos, available today at most major retailers! “Bonus: this has the word “carrot” written on it, so if your New Years Resolution was to eat more carrots and sh*t… partial credit. [sic]
Note that the actual wafer is a new one, a carrot cake flavored one, and the ingredients list spice, graham flour, and corn cereal. These aren’t limited edition either! [sic]”
The carrot cake flavour cookies can be found in Walmart and Target in the US and are available to purchase online from Amazon and specialists retailers such as A Taste of the States and Sweet and Glory for those in the UK.
