After six months of operating from Deliveroo’s delivery-only kitchen, Oowee Vegan is finally opening in a permanent restaurant site located in central Brighton.
The vegan junk food specialists already have sites in Bristol and London and were named Deliveroo’s ‘Restaurant of the Year’ in 2019.
Oowee’s new residency is The Western pub and taphouse on Cranbourne St, next to the Churchill Square shopping development. Opening at an existing establishment gives Oowee the benefit of a professional pub kitchen and in-house seating for when UK restrictions ease over the next few months.
At the new vegan Brighton location, Oowee will be serving up new recipe Chick’n, Beyond Meat, and Dirty Fries. Basically, all the good stuff!
Oowee’s hero burger ‘The Big Oovee’ features a Beyond Meat patty, signature Oovee dirty sauce, American cheese, a hashbrown, gherkins and lettuce, and was recently named one of the top five Deliveroo orders over lockdown. Anyone else drooling?

‘The future of fast food is animal-free’
Speaking in a statement sent to Vegan Food and Living, Charlie Watson, co-founder of Oowee Vegan said, “We believe the future of fast food is animal-free.
“Our goals are to create food that is mouth-watering, delicious and something everyone can enjoy. Our mission is to bring people together with our culture and our food and having had great success in Brighton so far, we can’t wait to get more involved in the thriving Brighton scene with a more permanent, central location.”
Oowee Vegan has flourished as an independent business in 2020, despite the year being scattered with lockdowns, restrictions and redundancies, and we can’t wait to see what the intrepid entrepreneurs do next.
The vegan junk food experts Oowee Vegan is open now at The Western Pub for Deliveroo and takeaway, so get indulging!
