Vegan pork champion Omnipork debuts in UK supermarket

Hong Kong-based OmniFoods launches its OmniPork range in chilled food aisle in UK's leading supermarket, Sainsbury's


Leading plant-based pork alternative brand OmniPork has launched in UK’s leading supermarket, Sainsbury’s.

The Hong Kong-based OmniFoods debut to Sainsbury’s is part of the brand’s expansion around the globe.

Lovers of the vegan pork can now find OmniPork’s award-winning Mince and OmniPork Strips in Sainsbury’s chilled food aisle.

Prior to OmniPork’s debut at Sainsbury’s, the vegan pork brand had only been available to purchase through online supermarkets and a limited number of independent stores.

Fans of OmniFood can find the vegan mince and strips at 119 stores around the UK.

Both products are made from a blend of peas, non-GMO soy, shiitake mushrooms and rice for complete protein.

Compared to animal-based pork, OmniFoods claims its product contains less saturated fat whilst still providing high levels of protein.

In addition, both products are now available at an introductory price of £3.75.


Who are OmniFoods?

Following its launch in 2018, OmniFoods has rapidly revolutionised plant-based meats.

The brand was founded by David Yeung, who is also CEO of Green Monday Group.

With ever-growing evidence that the livestock industry is having an increasing negative effect on our climate, Yeung wanted to create a meat alternative that vegans and meat-eaters alike could enjoy.

OmniFood’s innovation has been recognised and demand for OmniPork continues to rise.

Furthermore, OmniFoods is becoming rapidly available around the globe, including the U.S., Vietnam, Korea and Australia.

In recent weeks, OmniPork has launched the Big Vegan Pig Out in the UK.

The campaign is in partnership with an array of esteemed UK restaurants and brings mouth-watering plant-based pork meals to 21 new locations, mainly in London.

We are excited to see OmniFoods grow from strength to strength, we hope its expansion will persuade people to ditch meat and try something new.
