Omari McQueen has already accomplished things people spend a lifetime trying to achieve, all at just 12-years old.
He boasts the title of the youngest award-winning vegan chef in the UK, as well as the CEO and founder of vegan restaurant Dipalicious. Not only that, the entrepreneur recently landed his very own vegan cookery show on the BBC’s children’s channel, CBBC.
Now Omari is adding another string to his bow as he debuts his first vegan cookbook – Omari McQueen’s Best Bites Cookbook.
The vegan cookbook features over 35 easy-to-make plant-based recipes with delicious natural treats such as BBQ Jackfruit, Rasta Pasta and a Strawberry Coconut Cheesecake to tempt budding cooks.
Taking to Instagram to share news McQueen said that he is “living out my mission to bring people together through food without harming animals” with his latest project.
Touchingly, he also revealed that he is “proving to myself and others that anything is possible” with his cookbook release as he was “labelled as dyslexic and told that I wasn’t bright enough to do my SATs.”
Sharing an inspiring message of hope for all who struggle at school, McQueen said: “Now look I’m the author of my own cookbook “Omari McQueen Best Bites” it took a lot of hard work, grammar and spellchecks.
“I have my own show on CBBC I have been acknowledged around the world and supported by all you amazing people. I did it and I did it for us all we can be anything that we want to be.

According to Omari’s mother Leah McQueen, Omari was inspired to go vegan aged 8 after learning about the suffering farmed animals face for our food.
She said that he decided that “he would never let an animal hurt for him again” after conducting his own research into the industries.
Speaking in a mini-documentary about why he is so passionate about promoting plant-based diets, he said: “I don’t want animals to die or be eaten so I teach people my age to be vegan.”
What’s Cooking Omari?
The inspiring young chef already has a popular YouTube channel where he shows people how to make tasty plant-based dishes, but in 2020 he scored his very first TV show on CBBC.
McQueen made his debut on the BBC’s children channel in November with his cookery show, ‘What’s Cooking Omari?’, which is aimed at children aged between 7 and 16.
The show airs every Sunday at 9.30 in the morning and aims to inspire the next generation to ditch meat and get creative in the kitchen cooking up simple but delicious plant-based meals.
