Popular Swedish oat milk brand Oatly, the makers behind the incredibly popular Barista-style oat drink which is the perfect addition to hot drinks, is launching its range of oat-milk based ice-creams in the US
With a newly-opened oat milk factory in New Jersey that has helped to alleviate supply issues caused by soaring demand for its popular products, the company is now turning its attention to bringing new products to the US market.
Oatly’s range of ice-cream flavors includes refreshing flavors such as vanilla, chocolate, strawberry and even and oat flavor! According to Refinery29, the strawberry flavour “turned our team of strawberry ice cream haters into loyal converts” whilst the oat flavor had “all the rich nuttiness that we’ve grown to need in our morning coffee.”
From this month, seven Oatly ice cream flavours will hit bodega shelves across New York City whilst fans in Southern California should keep a lookout for a baby pink and mint-green ice cream truck that has been giving West Coast fans a taste of the new flavors.
The dairy-free pints will also be making their way onto Wegman’s shelves later this summer and Whole Foods aisles in the Fall for $5.99 a pint.
UK vegans will need to holster their scoops for the meantime as Oatly’s vegan ice-creams are currently only available in the US, Sweden, Finland and Norway, although the company has stated that they are ‘working on’ introducing the products to ‘all’ of their markets.
