A brand new plant protein food start-up called The Vegilantes has launched its siz-strong range of frozen plant-based products at Morrisons stores across the country today.

Founded in 2017 by Catherine D’Arcy, a veteran leader in the Food Industry; Sanjay Sighat, a 28-year Executive Chef and Development Chef of The Year; and Riley Riley, former VP of Facebook and Instagram, the company aims to use science “to save the planet, one meal at a time” by offering tasty plant-based products with a lower impact on the planet that animal-based products.
Sharing the story of the inspiration behind the brand, the company wrote: “In 2017, we had a dream. After years and years of waiting and hoping that someone would come up with a viable alternative to industrial livestock farming, we realised that science – or tech – could be the answer and The Vegilantes was born.”
The team has “spent years developing science-based, all-natural ingredients for three basic food groups that offered real plant-based alternatives: Meat, Pastry and Cheese.”
After many months spent in their tiny development kitchen at Chef Sanjay’s house, The Vegilantes had developed a range of “delicious products that were indistinguishable from the foods we eat every day.”
