UK retailer M&S is launching more vegan products into their Plant Kitchen range for Veganuary, including vegan cheese and melt-in-the-middle fishcakes.

High-end British retailer Marks and Spencer (M&S) is going hard for Veganuary this year, with a huge number of new vegan products launching into their Plant Kitchen range.

M&S will finally launch its own-brand vegan cheese, after only selling Violife for the past few years. M&S is welcoming two vegan kinds of cheese made from coconut oil: a cheddar alternative and vegan feta. The retailer says its feta alternative ‘tastes and crumbles just like Greek salad cheese’.

Moreover, Plant Kitchen will now feature more meat alternatives, desserts and to-go options. In the mock meat line-up, you can find vegan Chickenless Southern Fried Tenders where you “won’t be able to taste the difference” and ready-to-eat BBQ and Piri Piri No-Chicken Pieces.

For a very different vegan sandwich, the retailer is offering a vegan New York Pretzel Roll with No Salt Beef. Featuring sauerkraut, carrot and spring onion slaw, pickled dill cucumber, mustard dressing, coconut-based cheese and vegan ‘salt beef’ made from wheat protein, this new to-go option is sure to be a hit.

Inspired by the success of their incredibly delicious meat-free kievs, M&S has also launched Plant Kitchen 2 Melt in the Middle No Fish Cakes. Priced at £3.50 they’re sure to be another family favourite and are ideal for an easy dinner.

Made with rice protein for the perfect flaky texture, the cakes also boast a decadent creamy chive centre – perfect for sticking in the oven when you don’t fancy spending hours cooking.

Got a sweet tooth?

For those that prefer something a little sweeter, M&S is also launching some exciting new dessert options.

The new Vegan Strawberry Cheesecake Wedges are perfect for anyone who likes to indulge. Made with a crunchy oat base and creamy lentil-based filling, the strawberry and Madagascan vanilla flavours will make you feel truly luxurious.

Additionally, the retailer is launching Vegan Chocolate Chip Cookies into its in-store bakery. The dairy-free cookie is “soft, gooey and packed with Belgian chocolate chips” according to M&S. And to wash it down, you can pour yourself a glass of Plant Kitchen Chocolate Oat Milk.

Anyone who is a regular customer in M&S will be familiar with the (almost) irresistible sweet smells emanating from the bakery, so this launch is a real treat.

Other launches

That’s not all M&S is launching this Veganuary! Other product launches coming this month include:

  • No Beef Steak Bakes
  • Melt in the Middle No Fish Cakes
  • Chickenless Tikka Masala
  • Sweet and Sour No Chicken
  • No Beef Meatballs

The entire range will be available from the 4th January, so keep your eyes peeled!
