Morrisons supermarket has unveiled its Christmas range for 2019 and it includes some tasty vegan options.
UK supermarket Morrisons has announced the fabulous festive fare we can expect to see on supermarket shelves this Christmas, and there’s some tasty new options for vegans.
Perfect as a side dish or for nibbles at your Christmas party, the retailer is offering its own take on pigs in blankets with a vegan twist. The snackable bites are made with jackfruit and chickpeas sausages wrapped in “streaky pastry” in place of bacon.
There’s also katsu croquettes filled with sweet potato, carrot and red pepper in a katsu curry sauce for those looking for something different to the usual festive flavours.
Another Asian-inspired dish joining the lineup is the Korean Jackfruit Bao Buns which have been designed for steaming at home. Fill them with pulled jackfruit, BBQ sauce and mixed vegetables in spicy gochujang sauce for a delicious crowd-pleaser.
For your main meal, pick up the Best Vegetable Layered Tart which is loaded with spiced beetroot, butternut squash, spinach, cranberry and onion chutney and topped with roasted chestnuts wrapped up in vegan-friendly puff pastry.
