VegFestUK has confirmed the appearances of a number of prominent plant-based athletes at VegFestUK Bristol 2018, which is taking place at Ashton Gate stadium.
Traditionally athletes tend to swear by using meat and whey protein in their diet in their effort to grow muscles and maintain their fitness, and anyone who tries to steer clear of animal foods whilst bodybuilding tends to be seen as an outcast in the fitness communities.
Not anymore, as a large number of athletes have proved that strength, fitness and recovery can be maintained and even improved on an exclusively plant-based diet, which is increasingly being accepted in various sports circles with athletes from all walks of life declaring that they are shunning meat, dairy and eggs.
The organisers of the upcoming VegfestUK Bristol plant-based lifestyle event, which takes place at Ashton Gate stadium (home of Bristol City football & rugby clubs) on May 26-27, have just confirmed the appearances of a number of prominent plant-based athletes to underlie further the validity of 100% plant-fuelled fitness and strength, courtesy of raw plant-based superfood company Vivo Life.
Big-hitters confirmed for this 16th-year event include:

And they will be joined by two other plant-based bodybuilders – Stephen Coote(RiseOfTheVegan.com) and Nathan Loughton (Vegan Bodybuilding UK).
Speaking about the stellar lineup, the event organisers said:
“As our first event at a football and rugby stadium, we are delighted to be playing host to such a distinguished selection of athletes who will demonstrate resoundingly that no one needs animal products to be strong, and if anything, 100% plant-fuelled athletes can even outperform their meat-eating counterparts in a number of aspects. These athletes are living proof that the concept of requiring meat and whey for strength is as archaic as it can get, and our visitors will get plenty of time at the event to meet and greet arguably some of the pioneers of plant-based fitness.”
This glittering list of athletes will join a number of other plant-based fitness personalities, all of whom will be engaging in talks and panels in the Plant-Based Diets: Optimum Performance talks room, where the experts will be sharing their personal insights into maintaining or enhancing their fitness, performance and recovery whilst being exclusively fuelled by plants, as well as some of their success stories.
Athletes currently confirmed include kickboxers Omowale Adewale and Nadia Muy, strongman Patrik Baboumian, cyclist Christine Vardaros, marathon runner Fiona Oakes, triathletes Kate Strong and Dave Sheahan, powerlifter Pat Reeves, personal trainer Hench Herbivore, and former freerunning champion Tim Shieff.
Other activities at this massive event include around 250 Stalls of shopping options, around 18 Global Caterers, an in-house Restaurant and a Pizzeria/Bar all serving mouthwatering food, 2 other talks rooms, one on health and the other on the core ethics of veganism, Cookery Demos providing inspirations on plant-based recipes, a Vegan Activists Hub for dedicated vegan activists during the day, followed by standup comedy and other light-hearted entertainment in the evening, alongside 2 stages for live music.
