In the wake of the success of its solid Slap Stick foundation, Lush Labs has just launched a range of five vegan ‘Glow Stick’ highlighters.
The highly pigmented highlighters have been formulated with a range of skin tones in mind. They come in five shades, named after birds. These are: Rock Dove (lilac), Ibis (gold), Lark (taupe), Robin (rose) and Peacock (green and silver). The Peacock highlighter also doubles as an eyeshadow.
In order to reduce plastic waste, the highlighters have no packaging and do not include plastic glitter (an environmentally-harmful substance made from reflective plastic). Synthetic mica, which is made in the Lush Lab, makes the products sparkle instead.
To apply the highlighter, you simply draw it on to your face as you would with a crayon and blend it in with your hand.
Speaking about the new launch, a Lush spokesperson said: ‘[the ‘Glow Sticks’] are simple to apply and perfect for creating a brightened, reflective effect on the skin.’
The highlighters join a range of products made from coconut oil, and 10% of the profit made from these products will go to an organisation working to provide social amenities like dentists and literacy classes to those living on the island of Nias in Indonesia.
The cruelty-free beauty brand also recently opened a pop-up vegan coffee shop in London in an attempt to raise awareness of the issues of plastic waste.
The highlighters cost £11.95 each and are available online for a limited amount of time here.
