A London bakery has ditched animal products entirely and gone vegan after its owner was inspired by an Earthling Ed video.

After discovering the cruel truth behind the dairy industry, Fairypan Cake Studio in London made the bold decision to become an entirely vegan business overnight.

Speaking to Instagram account VegansOfLdn, owner Silvia Stocchino said she had been inspired to ditch eggs, dairy and other animal products from her bakes after watching Earthling Ed’s ‘This Is The Truth’ video in November.

The hard-hitting video shows distressing scenes of the squalid conditions the animals live in on dairy farms in the UK as well as showing workers abusing and beating cows on hidden camera footage taken over an 18-month period.

Stocchino has owned the East London bakery for over four years and specialises in creating beautiful bespoke wedding and celebration cakes using only plant-based ingredients.

Not only has she made the decision to turn her business vegan, Stocchino is also keen to reduce its impact on the planet by using completely biodegradable packaging.

On her website, Stocchino states: “Based in East London, I specialize in plant based celebration and wedding cakes. I love simple but elegant designs, with the perfect balance between exposed cake and decoration.

“I use pastel colours, edible flowers and love that every cake is as unique as its special occasion.”
