Five-time Formula One champion, Lewis Hamilton, announces the launch of the world’s first international plant-based burger chain, Neat Burger.
It seems there’s nothing Lewis Hamilton can’t turn his hand to! Determined to revolutionise the way plant-based food is viewed by the public, Lewis has set the fast-food industry in his sights, announcing the launch of an international plant-based burger chain he’s calling Neat Burger. To launch his latest venture, the five-time Formula One World Champion is collaborating with hospitality organisation The Cream Group, alongside the backing of investors such as UNICEF Ambassador and backer of plant-based meatless-meat brand Beyond Meat, Tommaso Chiabra.
The exciting new burger chain promises to help transform the way that people view vegan and plant-based foods. The burgers will be created specifically for the restaurant chain by Neat’s chefs, utilising the base ingredients from Beyond Meat’s plant-based burger range. Beyond Meat is a brand whose burgers have risen to fame in the vegan and flexitarian community, thanks to their realistic flavour and texture, as well as protein content and impressive ingredients list.
The new menu will consist of three core burgers: ‘The Neat”, ‘The Cheese” and ‘The Chick’n”, as well as ‘The Hot Dog” with sides including skinny fries, sweet potato fries and the all American classic, tater tots.
Neat Burger will also stock the eco-water brand Just Water, launched by Jaden Smith in 2018, as well as dairy-free soft serve ice cream, coconut and soya-based milkshakes, as well as alcoholic beverages by Toast Ale.
Changing the world, one bite at a time
The team behind Neat wanted to ensure that their food appeals to everyone, as to encourage a variety of people to make healthier, sustainable and ethical decisions about their meals. With beef being continually highlighted as one of the most devastating ingredients for the environment, and plant-based alternatives such as the Beyond Meat Burger passing both nutritional and taste comparison tests, it comes as no surprise that Lewis and Neat have decided to push delicious vegan alternatives out into the mainstream, hoping to trigger a food revolution.
Lewis comments: “I’m very passionate about being kinder to our world and also really respect Neat Burger’s commitment to more ethical practices and supporting small businesses, so this is something I’m also really proud to support.”
Tommaso Chiabra adds: “The meat industry is the biggest contributor to greenhouse emissions and its
environmental impact is no longer sustainable together with the growth of the population. Neat Burger aims to disrupt the non-sustainable food industry and become a force for good”
Global fast-food revolution
The first location for Neat Burger will be opening on September 2nd, with the site sitting just off Regent Street in London. The team already has ambitious plans to expand the franchise globally over the next 24 months, expecting to open another 14 stores within two years.
Commenting on the project, Hamilton adds: “As someone who follows a plant-based diet, I believe we need a healthier high street option that tastes amazing but also offers something exciting to those who want to be meat-free every now and again.”
Neat Burger will open it’s first London-based location on 2nd September, just off Regent Street.
