The UK’s first vegan cheesemonger La Fauxmagerie is launching its first supermarket range exclusively at Waitrose.

Based in London, La Fauxmagerie has become renowned for its wide selection of artisan vegan cheeses.

Waitrose customers can choose from a selection of popular products from the plant-based cheesemonger, including Truffle Camemvert, Shoreditch Smoked and Brixton Blue.

Currently, La Fauxmagerie’s range is stocked in 20 Waitrose stores across the UK.

Locations include Guildford, Weybridge, Leigh on Sea, Brighton, and Hersham.

However, the vegan cheesemonger has revealed its products will soon be stocked in Waitrose stores nationwide.

“Providing authentic dairy alternatives using traditional methods”

Furthermore, Cheese Buyer at Waitrose, Sarah Miness, said: “We are delighted to bring artisanal vegan cheese brand, La Fauxmagerie to our shelves.

“The time, care and attention which is taken by the producers to create these great-tasting alternatives is simply extraordinary and the final product is absolutely delicious.”

Miness added that it’s not just vegans that have taken an interest in the artisanal vegan cheese. The supermarket is seeing a variety of customers taking an interest in dairy-free alternatives.

Additionally, the Founders of La Fauxmagerie, Rachel and Charlotte Stevens, expressed their excitement for their latest venture with Waitrose.

“We’ve spent years crafting and championing delicious, high-quality dairy-free cheeses.” the Founders commented.

“We are ecstatic that our range of cheeses are now on the shelves at Waitrose, providing authentic dairy alternatives using traditional methods, but modern ingredients!”

Artisan vegan cheeses

Despite what some people may think, vegan cheese alternatives have come a long way.

The UK is home to many exciting and innovative plant-based cheesemakers.

Luxury dairy-free cheese brands such as I am Nut Ok, Mouse’s Favourite, and Palace Culture have produced some of the best artisan vegan cheeses on the market.

Utilising ingredients such as cashews, the cheeses are fermented and produced in a traditional way to give an authentic taste.
