At the start of the year, the KFC vegan burger launched as a permanent product on their menu in 900 UK stores, and it’s pleased to reveal that is has sold a whopping 1 million burgers since its launch.

According to the company: “Since its launch on 2nd January, vegans, vegetarians, flexitarians and chicken fans alike have all flocked to KFC restaurants across the UK to try the vegan burger – with one burger being purchased roughly every three seconds.”

The vegan burger has been made to KFC’s “famous Original recipe” with its the legendary 11 herbs and spices adding flavour to the meat-free Quorn fillet.

Hungry vegans in Shoreditch flocked to KFC in droves to try the new burger, buying the most vegan burgers out of everywhere in the UK, followed by Nottingham, London Waterloo, Brighton and Manchester.

Whilst it’s exciting to see more vegan options on the high-street making veganism accessible to a much wider audience, the results of our Big Vegan Survey revealed that 57 percent of respondents ‘would never eat at KFC, even if there were more vegan options.’
