Kat Von D Beauty has launched a super limited-edition vegan make-up collection inspired by one of Kat Von D’s biggest muses: the one and only, late, great drag queen Divine.

The KAT VON D x DIVINE Collection is a symbol of self-expression, artistry and positivity, celebrating creativity, transformation and the beauty of a true original. Known for his audacious, larger-than-life persona — and the makeup to match! — Divine embraced his authentic self with unwavering confidence and an outspoken attitude. In fact, Divine’s makeup is so iconic that his makeup was the inspiration for Ursula in Disney’s The Little Mermaid!

Despite relentless criticism, Divine remained unapologetically true to himself, and in doing so, served as a beacon of hope and strength for marginalized subcultures. Today, Divine’s legacy continues to inspire victims of bullying from all backgrounds.

This limited edition 8-pan eyeshadow palette features high pigment matte, shimmer and metallic shades inspired by Divine’s famous look, with a selfie-friendly cover design: Hold the palette over your eyes, snap a selfie and take on Divine’s fierce and iconic glance!

Kat also created an exclusive, never-before-seen nude shade of Studded Kiss Crème Lipstick, in collectible neon green studded packaging. It’s the perfect finishing touch for the ultimate Divine look. The Studded Kiss Crème Lipstick offers a high pigment vegan and cruelty-free formula that delivers luxuriously rich texture and intensified colour payoff with Kat’s signature long wear, now in an unforgettable nude shade: Divine.

Discussing the decision to create a limited edition range of makeup celebrating her muse, Von D said:

“I’ve always been a huge Divine fan. He was so iconic and so ground-breaking, especially for the time that he was around because he was not only
breaking barriers in the regular world just being openly gay, but in the drag world as well. He made people question the conventional idea of beauty and he made something that could be scary to most people very appealing. I think that’s so powerful and I’m really excited about this collab that’s launching on Valentine’s Day, which I think is an appropriate launch date!” 

For the campaign, (which was shot on Divine’s birthday) each of the four Kat Von D Beauty Artistry Collective Global Makeup Artists transformed Kat and her 3 muses into larger-than-life, Divine-inspired icons for the campaign, which was shot by photographer Mariano Vivanco.
