Carbon negative ice cream company Jude’s has announced the launch of a new flavour of vegan ice cream, launching just in time for Mother’s Day.

The new strawberry flavour will be exclusively available through Jude’s gift shop in its gift boxes which contain 6 ice cream tubs, a recipe book, and a Jude’s tote bag.

Launching on 1st February, the new flavour will also be available to order in Jude’s special edition Mother’s Day gift box.

The launch of the new flavour comes after Jude’s has pledged to make half of its range plant-based by 2025.

Currently, around 25% of the Jude’s range is vegan-friendly.

The range of plant-based products goes beyond Jude’s variety of delicious ice cream flavours, to include plant-based custards, and a canned chocolate milkshake.

The brand aims to launch more new products each year until the target is reached, so we can expect to see even more tasty and indulgent treats hit our shelves in the future.

The pledge is part of Jude’s Carbon Negative report, which can be read on the Jude’s website.

Vegan ice cream in the UK

Vegan ice cream in the UK has come a long way. Where once vegans would hunt for egg-free sorbet and plain flavours of soy-based ice cream, we now find ourselves spoiled for choice.

From big brands and supermarkets’ own ranges, to small, independently own businesses, we can now find ice creams made from different bases to suit all tastes and diets – like coconut, oat, soya, and even banana.

Not only that, but the choice of flavours is growing too!

Classic flavours like chocolate and vanilla are becoming ubiquitous, with at least one available in almost every store.

Ice cream fans can also pick up flavours like mint choc chip, honeycomb, or cookie dough if they know where to look.

There are even vegan Magnums and Cornettos for those who like their ice cream to be more portable.
