John Lewis & Partners has launched a vegan duvet approved by The Vegan Society and it’s made from biodegradable materials.
Veganism is a way of living that seeks to exclude all forms of animal exploitation and cruelty wherever possible and extends beyond the food we eat, the clothing and beauty products we wear to the items we buy for our homes.
Whilst many people snuggle up at night under a down duvet, vegans opt for microfibre duvets to ensure a good nights sleep.
Keen to help give vegans sweet dreams, John Lewis & Partners has created their first vegan duvet approved by The Vegan Society.
Handcrafted in Devon, the new botanic duvet is made from a material called tencel lyocell, a biodegradable material derived from sustainable wood sources that is soft and naturally breathable making it the perfect material to keep you cool yet cosy at night.
The new vegan Natural Collection duvet is available in both lightweight 2.5 and 4.5 tog in a range of sizes including single, double, king and super king sizes with prices starting from £135 for a 2.5 tog single duvet.
Speaking to Ideal Home about the duvet, Unna Patel, Partner & Filled Bedding Buyer at John Lewis & Partners, said: “We’re really excited about launching our first vegan duvet. ‘Our customers are telling us that they want to be more sustainable and live healthier, more responsible lives.
“As plant based and vegan lifestyles are becoming increasingly popular, we think this product will delight our customers. Providing them with a beautiful product that will give them a great night’s sleep.”
