The new product from Itsu pairs plant-based chicken with sweet teriyaki sauce, alongside kale, carrot and spring onion in a delicious vegan dumpling.

The frozen dumplings are high in protein and have a meaty texture to target those looking to reduce their meat consumption. Ready in just 4 minutes, the new gyozas can be steamed, simmered or fried.

Itsu’s vegan teriyaki chick’n gyoza are launching at £3.75 per 12-dumpling pack, in select Waitrose stores this month, followed by Tesco in November.

CEO and founder of Itsu Julian Metcalfe said “As a brand we have always tried to provide our customers with a huge range of vegan options,”

“With a rise in sales for our plant-based products, it seemed the perfect opportunity to launch the UK’s very first ‘vegan meat’ gyoza …though, this is a product not just made for vegans, or vegetarians, it’s made for everyone – we’re incredibly proud of the final recipe, and can’t wait for people to try it.”

The new product joins Itsu’s expanding vegan range, which now accounts for 40% of their dishes.
