Heinz is launching a range of new vegan products for Veganuary, including mayo, salad cream and even bean burgers.

Following in the footsteps of mayonnaise giant Hellmanns who launched a groundbreaking vegan mayo in 2018, Heinz has created a range of vegan table sauces.
Heinz’s new saucy line up includes a vegan salad cream and three flavoured mayos. After beans and tomato ketchup, Heinz is probably most famous for its salad cream, so the introduction of a vegan version is a huge step forward. The brand boasts that the new vegan salad cream still has the ‘same deliciously zingy taste we all know and love’.
The three mayo flavours are original, smoky chilli, and garlic aioli, meaning there’s something for everyone. Each creamy 220ml squeezy bottle will be available for £1.99, for all your dipping, dolloping and spreading.
Zoe West from Veganuary told us “there’s a general misperception that being vegan means you have to work hard to find fancy, niche products, but actually we just want the same comfort foods as everyone else.” Therefore, we hope these new sauces help to make Veganuary easier for people giving it a go.

Beanz Burgerz
Heinz is also simultaneously launching three varieties of ‘Beanz Burgerz’ for Veganuary, perfect with a dollop of one of their mayos.
The two vegan flavours are Original (tomato, mushroom and mixed spices) and Texan (black beans, smoky chipotle, chilli and corn). Each burger contains 10g of protein and is packed full of beans for a healthy nutrient boost.
Beanz Burgerz will be located in the frozen aisle, so they’ll be ready in your freezer whenever you fancy some beany goodness.
‘The power of plants’
In a statement sent to Vegan Food and Living, Heinz Sauces Brand Manager Maria Perez told us:
“Here at Heinz, we have long believed in the power of plants, and many of the Heinz varieties you know and love are already vegan.
“As more and more of the country is tucking into flexitarian, vegetarian, plant-based and vegan meals, and as we kick off Veganuary 2021, we wanted to make sure you can still enjoy the same great taste of Heinz you know and love, in new plant-based recipes.”
Heinz Vegan Salad Cream and Vegan Mayo will be available from Tesco on the 1st January, while the Chilli and Garlic mayos and Beanz Burgers will follow in mid-January.
