Gü is launching two new flavours of vegan mousse in January, ready to bring a taste of luxury to Veganuary 2022.

Luxury dessert maker (and the company responsible for that pile of glass ramekins in your cupboard), Gü has unveiled two new vegan-friendly mousses which will join its range of Free From desserts.

Both of the new desserts feature an irresistible dark chocolate mousse, each with a different indulgent flavour layered through.

One is layered with a rich chocolate ganache, while the other contains a sumptuous salted caramel.

What’s more, the indulgent layers of salted caramel in the Free From Dark Chocolate Mousse with Salted Caramel are blended and lightly caramelised, to create a more rounded flavoured caramel.

It also features added Guerandé salt from Brittany, helping to recreate the mouthfeel of a traditional salted caramel.

Each dessert is carefully crafted by Gü Head Chef, Fred Ponnavoy, and is made using a traditional French mousse recipe, with added layers of thick chocolate ganache or oozing caramel.

However, these mousses break from tradition, using plant-based ingredients like coconut cream and whipped Aquafaba to guarantee an indulgent, vegan-friendly treat that reflects the premium taste Gü prides itself on.

Both desserts will be available from January in major supermarkets priced at £3.50 for a pack of two.

After a recent revelation that the taste of vegan products may be the biggest barrier to people sticking with a plant-based diet through Veganuary, Gü aim for these luxurious desserts to combat that issue.

Fred Ponnavoy, Gü Head Chef, commented: “Our new range of Free From mousses are made with the traditional French recipe in mind for a rich, thick texture.

“They are perfectly paired with creamy, plant-based ganache or salted caramel for a completely indulgent sensation.

“Veganism has never tasted so good – we’re sure Gü fans are going to love these additions.”

The Gü vegan range

Gü first launched its vegan-friendly desserts in early 2019, starting with a range of cheesecakes.

All Gü Free From desserts are gluten-free as well as vegan, and are available in twin packs served in the brand’s iconic glass ramekins.

Not only are the ramekins fully recyclable, but they’re highly re-useable too!

They’re great for making your own dessert creations, serving up sauces and dips, and can even reportedly fit a Pringles lid to create a make-shift snack pot!
