We all love a cheeky Greggs – whether you prefer the classic vegan sausage roll or vegan steak bake. Now, there’s a new treat in town: vegan mince pies!

The new mince pies feature crumbly shortcrust vegan pastry, bursting with sweet mincemeat made from vine fruits, Bramley apple, candied orange and lemon peel. They will be available for just 59p per mince pie, or £1.75 for a box of 6 – how can you resist?

In light of UK lockdown restrictions, the bakery chain has made the pies (and its entire Christmas menu) available on Just Eat. This means that even if you’re stuck at home, you can get some delicious mince pies delivered to your door!

Vegan at Greggs

Greggs seems committed to creating plant-based options, and it’s definitely been a successful move. Their first vegan product, the vegan sausage roll, became one of Gregg’s fastest selling products in the past six years. The humble roll was then followed by the controversial vegan steak bake, a glazed ring donut, and even hot cross buns for Easter this year.

Chief Executive of Greggs, Roger Whiteside, said: “We are working away to see if we can come up with a version of all our best selling lines because people want vegan options.

“If we can produce something that tastes just as good as the meat version, then that will sell very successfully.”

Look out for vegan mince pies at your local Greggs – we might as well start getting festive! It’s been a long year, you deserve a treat!
