High-street bakery chain Greggs, which has over 1,600 stores across the UK, is on a mission to add more vegan options to stores with the launch of vegan sausages rolls, a steak bake and doughnuts in the past year.

Now the company has announced that this Easter will see vegan-friendly hot cross buns launch in stores for a limited time.

The hot cross buns, which launched in stores over the weekend, are available in a pack of four for just £1.

The plant-based buns are bursting with zesty orange flavour and are filled with a unique mix of spices and vine fruits making them perfect for toasting and slathering with vegan butter.

In a release sent to Plant Based News, a spokesperson for the company said: “As we look forward to Easter, it’s the perfect time to toast the new season with a delicious, vegan-friendly Hot Cross Bun from Greggs.

“Now even more people can enjoy their favourite toasted Easter sweet treat, as Greggs’ Hot Cross Buns are now vegan-friendly.

“Get your hands on one of these irresistibly soft, vegan-friendly hot cross buns with orange flavour, juicy vine fruits and a unique mix of spices.”
