Few product launches have caused such a stir in recent years as the announcement that Greggs would be offering a vegan version of its popular sausage roll, which still remains in the company’s top five selling products today.
The vegan sausage roll proved so popular in fact that the company enjoy annual sales over £1bn for the first time, a figure they attributed to the fanfare surrounding the launch for driving this sharp rise in sales.
Fans of the sausage roll have begged the company to create more vegan versions of its best-selling products such as a steak bake, and Greggs has today confirmed speculation that has been building for some time by announcing that it will indeed be adding to its vegan range in the new year.
In a teaser video shared on its social media channels this morning (17th December), Greggs told followers; “Believe the hype…Greggs x Vegan…dropping January 2020.”
However, the high-street bakery chain is keeping details of its new vegan offering strictly under wraps for now, simply confirming; “The rumours are true. We can’t wait to reveal more about the launch and how we will be adding to our vegan menu.”
