Ginsters, the biggest selling pasty maker in the UK, has teamed up with leading meat-free brand Quorn to launch a vegan peppered steak slice
The UK’s leading pasty maker Ginsters has teamed up with meat-free brand Quorn once again to release a vegan version of one of its classic non-vegan savoury pastries – the peppered steak slice.
The new slices contained marinated Quorn pieces with onions and potatoes in a peppercorn sauce made from peppercorns, garlic and Dijon mustard all wrapped up in puff pastry and brushed with coconut milk to give them a golden colour.
The vegan pepper steak slices will launch across the UK on October 12 and can be eaten hot or cold making them a tasty and filling treat when you’re out and about.

“We want to set out a blueprint for innovation and growth within chilled savoury pastry,” Ginsters MD Kieran Hemsworth told The Grocer, adding growing its meat-free offer was “critical to driving trial”.
“Consumers want to try meat free and are more inspired to do so with a flavour they know and love.”
The new product is the third to be released as part of Ginsters and Quorn’s collaboration with the companies previously releasing a vegan pasty and a vegan sausage roll.
