Ginsters, the biggest selling pasty maker in the UK, has teamed up with leading meat-free brand Quorn to launch a vegan sausage roll to rival Greggs.
Ginsters has collaborated with Quorn to release another plant-based pastry in the form of a vegan sausage roll.
In 2019, the two companies teamed up to create a vegan pasty filled with marinated vegan Quorn pieces and vegetables, but this time they’re going head to head with the likes of Greggs with their latest offering.
According to Ginsters, the Ginsters Vegan Quorn Sausage Roll features a “bespoke meat-free, high-fibre sausage, peppered with herbs and spices, in a light puff pastry.”
The plant-based pastry will go on sale in the UK on the 15th April and will be priced at £1.25.
Ginsters hopes that the new vegan product will “attract vegan and flexitarian consumers to the savoury pastry and chilled meat-free categories” and has been created as the company believes “Choice for vegan rolls is very limited” according to Ginsters MD Kieran Hemsworth.
