In response to the growing demand for meat-free options from customers, family-friendly Italian restaurant chain Frankie & Benny’s has launched a brand new ‘Feel Good’ menu, which includes a range of new vegan dishes.
UK-based Italian-American restaurant chain Frankie & Benny’s has launched a new healthier menu including a variety of vegan options, increasing its vegan options by sixfold as 12% of the British population now follow a meat-free diet.
Frankie & Benny’s kitchens will be serving up a new family-oriented menu featuring a ‘Feel Good’ range of healthier and lighter dishes after research it conducted suggested more than two million parents think lack of choice is an issue at UK restaurants.
The new dishes that its product development team has created have been made with parents in mind, it said. All starters on the ‘Feel Good’ range are under 400 calories, and mains are under 650 calories.
The plant-based options include appetizers such as bruschetta and marinated olives to pick on whilst you await your mains, a super summer salad with couscous, bulgar wheat, black lentils, butternut squash, radish and spring onion, as well as a hearty beetroot burger*.
The vegan menu items will be clearly marked “VG” to ensure customers can easily pick out the options that are suitable.
Brand manager at Frankie & Benny’s Oliver Hopkins said the chain knows that it needs to cater to all audiences.
“We pride ourselves in offering something for that fussy teenager who turns their nose up at almost everything, the kid who just wants to tuck into a burger, and parents seeking to watch their calorie count. The Feel Good range expands our vegan, vegetarian and low-calorie options to cater to those preferences.”
*Vegan Food & Living has contacted Frankie & Benny’s to enquire about the full range of vegan dishes on offer, and will update the article in due course to include the full range available.
