It’s never too early to start thinking about Christmas food if you ask us, particularly mince pies! Vegan bakery brand Oggs certainly agree as they announce the launch of a range of “entirely ethical” mince pies coming to Sainsbury’s this September.

According to the brand, the mince pies (priced at £2.75 for four) are “melt in the mouth, crumbly, deep & sweet they go perfectly with sherry a fantastically festive treat.”

The egg and dairy-free mince pies are filled with an abundance of fruits for a fantastic festive treat and are stuff with a mix of sultanas, currants, raisins, Bramley apple puree, vegetable suet, mixed spices and brandy.

Oggs are proud not only of their vegan ethics but also their commitment to reducing the impact of their packaging on the planet. The mince pie packaging is made with 100% recycled plastic and sustainably sourced materials, all of which can be fully recycled but will also biodegrade if it is sent to landfill.

The bakery brand states: “We don’t just make great pies! We want an epic planet in the future too, for all things great and small, that’s why our products are cruelty-free.

“We choose our environmentally friendly packaging with the planet in mind (even if our plastic ends up in landfill it’s completely biodegradable!) Our supply chain is as squeaky clean as possible. We only use sustainable palm oil.”
