Tesco has gone all out this year with its plant-based offerings with a huge array of vegan Christmas dishes on offer including a vegan wellington, turkey-free roast crown and a meat-free roast

The UK is experiencing a scorcher of a heatwave right now, and Tesco has got us thinking longingly about the cool crisp winter air as it announces the fabulous festive vegan fare coming to stores this Christmas.

This year, you can enjoy a very vegan Christmas as Tesco has something for everyone, with a range of innovative plant-based dishes so you can enjoy a delicious dinner with all the trimmings.

Canapes & Nibbles

Wow your guests this Christmas with an impressive spread of party food favourites with a vegan twist as the retailer has got a tasty range of vegan-friendly finger foods coming to stores this autumn.

Kicking off the celebrations this year, Tesco is launching Plant Chef No Mozzarella Sticks filled with mozzarella-style vegan cheese covered in a crispy breadcrumb coating.

Your guests won’t believe them when you tell them the Wicked Kitchen No-Chicken Drumettes (£4) are plant-based, but they are!

The new finger-licking drumettes come with a wicked spicy golden crumb and will be the talk of the party when your guests find out they’re meat-free.

Known for its innovative dishes, the Wicked Kitchen range will also feature a vegan alternative to breaded shrimp, Wicked Kitchen No-Prawn Firecracker Dippers.

These prawn-free nibbles look and taste like the real deal but are made from soybeans seasoned with kicks of spice and a smoky BBQ sauce.

From September 14th, you’ll also find Plant Chef BBQ Jackfruit Bon Bons (£2 for 8) on sale. These tasty bites feature pulled jackfruit coated in a crunchy seasoned crumb and a sweet and smoky barbecue sauce.

Sides & Trimmings

Last year, Tesco gave the nations favourite trimming, Pigs in Blankets, a vegan makeover and the plant-based Plant Chef Pigless Blankets (£2.20 for 10) are back by popular demand this year after they sold out in 2019.

The supermarket is launching a completely meat-free roast this year, so of course, they had to launch some plant-based stuffing to give vegans the full cruelty-free Christmas roast experience too!

The Plant Chef Sage & Onion Stuffing Balls (£2.00 for 12) are made with pea protein and vegetable suet with sage and onion and will be available to purchase from 23rd November.

Give your plate a pop of colour with the Roasting Roots Rainbow Carrots & Parsnips with Thyme which come pre-prepared and ready to roast to take the pressure off you on the big day.

Take the fuss out of cooking this year and leave yourself time to relax and enjoy the holidays as Tesco has three marvellous meat-free mains on offer for vegans and vegetarians this year.

If you are a Wellington fan then you’ll be pleased to hear you won’t have to spend hours making your own this year as Tesco is offering a Wicked Kitchen Wellington (£7.00) that serves four hungry people.

The hand-rolled ‘No-Beef’ wellington is the perfect plant-based centrepiece and is filled with a tasty seasoned pea protein, onion and garlic sautéed porcini and chestnut mushroom duxelles all wrapped up in flaky pastry. You can find this one in stores and online from November 30th.

Give turkeys a break this year with the brand new Wicked Kitchen No-Turkey Roast Crown (£5.00). This impressive easy-carve main will delight your guests and is made with savoury soy and wheat protein topped with vegan coconut melt and a sage and onion stuffing crumb.

Unlike a traditional turkey, this cooks in 45 minutes and has a texture like real turkey according to the supermarket.
