Vegan icon Earthling Ed has announced the launch of his debut book that empowers veganism and gives an insight to the meat industry
Vegan activist Ed Winters, AKA Earthling Ed, has announced the launch his debut book.
The book This Is Vegan Propaganda: (And Other Lies the Meat Industry Tells You) is an accumulation of Ed’s years of research and conversations around the vegan movement and animal exploitation.
Ed has said his debut book is intended to empower the vegan movement and was created for both vegans and non-vegans.
Moreover, This is Vegan Propaganda has been published by Penguin Random House and is due to launch on January 6th 2022.
Earthling Ed’s vegan book
Over the years, Earthling Ed has gained a significant following for his animal rights activism.
In addition to his co-founded animal rights organisation, SURGE, Winters has used his social media platform to inspire, educate and raise awareness about important animal and environmental issues.
During a video announcement, the activist shared that his years of research, conversation and insight into the meat industry inspired him to create the book to inspire others to consider a plant-based lifestyle.
In a social media post, Winters shared: “The book breaks down how we got to where we are today, how we continue to justify what we do, and importantly, how as vegans we can break through those justifications.
“I wanted to write a book that would empower vegans and that would ultimately make you feel more confident talking about veganism with the non-vegans in your life.”
Ed explained the aim of the book is for vegans to have an in-depth understanding of the cultural, social and psychological drivers that influence our behaviours.
Additionally, he added “I also wanted to write a book that is for non-vegans as well, both those who are already interested in veganism and those who are the most sceptical. This book is for everyone.”
This Is Vegan Propaganda
During the video announcement, Earthling Ed gave insight into the title This Is Vegan Propaganda: (And Other Lies the Meat Industry Tells You).
Ed shared: “The thought process behind the title was that it was a ‘tongue in cheek’ disarming of the phrase ‘vegan propaganda’.
“I also wanted the titled to turn the focus back onto the animal exploitation industries, inviting the reader to come and discover for themselves what these industries are calling propaganda.”
We can’t wait for the vegan book to launch and are so encouraged to see more people having hard discussions surrounding animal cruelty and our environment.
This Is Vegan Propaganda: (And Other Lies the Meat Industry Tells You) is available now for pre-order. Just in time for Veganuary!
