Costa Coffee drops extra charge on plant-based milks this Christmas

High-street coffee shop chain Costa is ditching its extra charge for plant-based milks. 

Costa Coffee is getting rid of its surcharge on plant-based milks from 1st November 2019 until 1st January 2020 at participating stores this Christmas.

Lactofree and plant-based alternatives will be offered as no extra cost when customers opt to customise their drink, with Arla Lactofree, Alpro Almond, Alpro Coconut and Alpro Soya all available for free in participating stores.

Announcing the news on Twitter, the company wrote: “Want another reason to be merry? We’re making our dairy alternative coconut, almond and soya completely free this Christmas. Enjoy!”

In a statement sent to Vegan Food & Living, Eric Tavoukdjian, Commercial Marketing Director, UK&I at Costa Coffee said” “We are thrilled to offer our customers the option to choose a Lactofree or plant-based alternative at no extra cost throughout November and December.

“Launching our ‘Wish upon a Costa…’ Christmas campaign, there’s no better way to deliver the perfect gift – the option to further customise their hancrafted favourite drink with a Lactofree or plant-based alternative for free.”
