Cheese and pastry, it’s a winning combination right? Well, Violife and Cooplands certainly think so!

The bakery chain and vegan cheese brand have teamed up to create a vegan Cheeze and Vegetable Bake for the Cooplands menu.

The delicious new bake combines Violife’s EPIC Mature Cheddar with vegetables and a hint of chilli, all wrapped up in Coopland’s signature pastry.

Cooplands will be targeting flexitarians and those wanting to reduce their meat and dairy intake as well as vegans. Research by Veganuary showed that Northerners were more likely to continue a vegan diet after Veganuary this year in comparison to the UK as a whole. Almost half of these same people said that they missed cheese the most, so the hope is to rectify this with a delicious cheeze bake.

‘Everyone can enjoy’

Simon Orchard, UK & Ireland Country Manager for Violife said: “As the UK’s favourite branded vegan alternative to cheese, we’re thrilled to be partnering with Cooplands to widen their existing plant-based range.

“Our EPIC Mature Cheddar Flavour has been hailed as the closest thing to mature cheddar ever made and so we’re confident that together we have created a product that everyone can enjoy – whether flexitarian, dairy-free or vegan.”

‘A tasty option’

Belinda Youngs, CEO at Cooplands said: “We are excited to partner with Violife to create a new plant-based cheeze bake using their great tasting cheese replacement product. For people who are either vegan or just looking to eat less meat in their diet or trying to do their bit for the environment, it is a tasty option.”

Vegan Food Awards 2020

Violife’s EPIC Mature Cheddar was the obvious choice for this bake, as the winner of ‘best vegan cheese’ at the PETA Vegan Food Awards 2020. In the announcement, PETA regarded it as ‘a must-have on any cheese lover’s plate.’

You can find the new bake in all 160 branches of Cooplands across the North, for just £1.50.
