Northern bakery chain Cooplands is launching a brand new range of vegan products for Veganuary including a vegan cream cake.

Cooplands has only gone and done it. The beloved Northern bakery chain has created the first vegan cream cake on the high street.

The Vegan Devonshire Split features a soft sweet bun, a strawberry jam filling, and dairy-free whipped cream. Anyone else now drooling at their phone screens?

Not got a sweet tooth? Don’t worry, Cooplands new range also includes several savoury vegan options. From January, you can indulge in a vegan steak bake, a vegan pizza slice, and even a vegan cheese and pickle sandwich.

This is in addition to their new vegan cheese and vegetable bake announced last month, featuring Violife cheese.

The new pastries will be baked fresh throughout the day in-store, and precautions will be taken to separate meat and vegan products.

‘Hard to tell the difference’

In a statement sent to Vegan Food and Living, Cooplands CEO Belinda Youngs told us: “We are committed to creating great food that everyone can enjoy whether they’re meat lovers, flexitarian, dairy-free or vegan.

“We’ve worked hard to create our vegan range that packs in all the flavour and that tastes so good, it would be hard to tell the difference or miss the meat.”

The new vegan range is part of Cooplands’ commitment to increasing plant-based options, and we can’t wait to see what they do next.

Who knew we’d be getting vegan pizza slices and cream cakes from the local bakery by 2021?

You can find the new range in Cooplands stores in January 2021, with prices starting at just £1.15.
