Co-op is releasing all the elements you need to enjoy a cruelty-free Christmas dinner as it announces the festive vegan products in its GRO vegan range for 2020

Earlier this year, Co-op debuted its new vegan GRO range designed exclusively for convenience shoppers. Now the retailer is pleased to announce the first festive GRO vegan products we can expect to see in stores later this year.
No Christmas party is complete without nibbles, and Co-op has three tasty finger-foods on offer this year in the form of its No Duck Spring Rolls (£2.25) filled with jackfruit and oyster mushrooms, Vegan Pigs in Blankets (£3) and Cauliflower Popcorn with Sweet Chilli Sauce (£2.25).
For those looking for a hearty main to replace meat in their Christmas dinner this year with something that celebrates the beauty of vegetables, Co-op is offering a Root Veg En Croute (£4).
These plant-based parcels feature root veg encased in a rich vegan puff pastry with orange zest and cranberry sauce.
If you’re a pudding fan but don’t enjoy more traditional offerings such as fruit cake, why not treat yourself to the new GRO Sticky Toffee puddings (£2.50) with a ‘sensationally sticky sponge with a thick toffee sauce’.

Meal Deal
The retailer is also making sure you can enjoy a taste of Christmas dinner long before the big day with its Vegan No Turkey Lunch sandwich (£3).
Containing all the elements of a Christmas dinner rolled into one, the seasonal sarnie contains vegan turkey made from soya protein with vegan bread sauce, roasted carrot and parsnip, cranberry sauce, sage and onion stuffing and vegan mayonnaise on sage and onion bread.
For the first time ever, Co-op is offering the sandwich as part of a fully vegan meal deal when purchased along with the Chocolate Orange Rocky Road (£1.10) and a drink.
In a statement, Director of Delicious Food at Co-op, Breige Donaghy, said: “It can be hard to cater for everyone during this busy period so we have looked at creating plenty of vegan and free from alternatives to Briton’s favourite Christmas foods.
“We’re really excited to launch our first vegan pigs in blankets and for the first time, we’ll have a full vegan lunchtime offer in our meal deal range.”
