Europe’s first liquid nitro ice cream parlour CHIN CHIN, which boasts celebrity fans including Angelina Jolie, Jude Law, Tim Burton and Mila Kunis,  is now sending its ice creams straight to your door through the post.

The ice cream pioneers have since been hailed by The Observer as ‘The future of ice-cream’ so its no surprise that they are the first company in the UK to come up with a unique way for their customers to enjoy their frozen treats by post after their stores were forced to close during lockdown.

The experimental husband and wife duo behind the brand, Ahrash Akbari Kalhur and Nyisha Weber, have found a way to keep their ice cream frozen for up to 32 hours using liquid nitrogen so that fans across the UK can enjoy the desserts.

Vegans can also enjoy the novel delivery service as CHIN CHIN’s Ice Cream in the Post features a selection box of 3 x 260ml tubs of liquid nitro ice cream (£19.95) with three vegan flavours to choose from including Pandan, Mango Lassi and Tonka Chocolate Chip.

CHIN CHIN plans to launch the Ice Cream in the Post as a monthly ice-cream subscription service, giving fans the opportunity to experience new flavours before they’re released to the public.

10th anniversary

This year marks 10th anniversary of CHIN CHIN  who opened in Camden Market as Europe’s first liquid nitro ice cream parlour in 2010 and now have three sites across London including CHIN CHIN Dessert Club in Soho and the 1950’s inspired dessert kiosk, CHIN CHIN Dessert Bar in Dinerama, Shoreditch.

CHIN CHIN founders Ahrash and Nyisha had hoped to celebrate in style this summer but said that they hoped the new delivery service would mean more people could enjoy the CHIN CHIN ice-cream experience amid the ongoing pandemic.

In a statement sent to Vegan Food & Living, they said: “We had planned to have one big celebration this summer to mark CHIN CHIN’s 10th birthday, but with so many of our fans based across the UK not knowing when they’ll next be able to venture into London, we wanted to find a way to deliver the CHIN CHIN ice-cream experience, direct to their homes.”
