One of the most exciting things about welcoming in the New Year is the influx of new vegan products that are launched in celebration of Veganuary, and 2020 looks set to be the best year yet!

In a first for the company, frozen pizza specialist Chicago Town has created its first frozen vegan pizza complete with a stuffed crust.

To ensure it’s vegan credentials and offer vegan consumers peace of mind, the plant-based pizza has been registered with The Vegan Society’s prestigious vegan trademark.

According to The Grocer, the pizza will be topped with peppers, onions and shredded jackfruit in a sticky BBQ sauce with vegan mozzarella cheese. The pizza will also feature a tomato-stuffed crust that’s perfect for dipping.

You won’t have to wait long to get your hands on the new plant-based pizza as it will launch in Tesco, Asda and Iceland in early January where it will be available to purchase for £3.50.

Chicago Town joins the likes of frozen pizza brand Goodfella’s in offering a vegan pizza in the frozen section at UK supermarkets. Goodfella’s successfully entered the vegan market in 2018 with the launch of its first plant-based pizza topped with falafel, red peppers, spinach, white onion, spicy harissa sauce and a moreish hummus drizzle.

In 2019, the company expanded its vegan portfolio with a stonebaked Spicy Vegetable Salsa pizza with vegan cheese.
