The UK’s leading chew stick sweet brand, Chewits, which has been creating its signature chewy sweets since 1965, has just released four new products, including two new treats which are suitable for vegans.

Available nationwide now at independent and convenience stores with plans to launch at larger supermarkets in 2021, the new vegan products include Xtreme Sour Apple Laces and Fruity Twists.

The sweets, which are priced at £1 for a 200g bag, have retained the brand’s signature chewy texture and mouth-wateringly sour fruit flavour despite being free from animal-derived ingredients, hydrogenated fats and artificial colours.

‘Broaden our appeal’

Commenting on the launch, Sarah McDermott, brand manager at Cloetta UK said: “We are over the moon to bring these new products to market. This is our first innovation for many years and we feel these new sharing product formats from Chewits will add some excitement and innovation to these confectionery categories.

“With a strong heritage in the confectionery industry, Chewits has been the number one chew stick in the UK for many years. Now we feel the time is right to broaden our appeal, by expanding into new category segments and offering more products with our popular chewy texture and great range of fruity flavours.”
