Due to popular customer demand, Carrs Pasties launches new vegan sausage roll and pasty, filling them with plant-based meat alternatives from Meatless Farm.
There are simply never enough vegan sausage rolls on the market! The latest news from Bolton-based pasty manufacturers Carrs will send the puff pastry-based connoisseurs amongst us running to their nearest Carrs bakery to sample their new plant-based offerings.
When looking to develop and launch a new vegan pasty and sausage roll, Carrs enlisted the help of popular vegan meat-substitute brand the Meatless Farm. Famous for their delicious pea and soy protein-based substitutes of mince, sausages and burgers, Meatless Farm have expanded their repertoire and reach by working alongside Carrs to satisfy the demands of pasty-loving vegans. Joe Carr, managing director of Carrs Pasties, adds: “Rather than rush into a quickly expanding market, we wanted to take the time to find a partner like the Meatless Farm who share our values.”
Caution has been taken to ensure that Carrs’ vegan range contains the same classic flavour profile as their meat-based products. Carrs uses a vegan-version of their pastry recipe, alongside carefully selected spices and herbs to re-create that classic Carrs flavour. Joe adds: “We always say that we wouldn’t sell anything that we wouldn’t queue up to buy ourselves – so whether you are a vegan, vegetarian, or if you are simply looking to reduce the amount of meat in your diet, please give our new vegan range a try and let us know what you think.”
The new products will be showcased at the Bolton Food and Drink Festival on Friday 23rd August.
