Hamburger restaurant chain Byron is adding two tasty new vegan burgers to the menu for summer.
Last year, restaurant chain Byron added its first vegan burger to the menu, the Beetnik, and now it’s expanding its menu once again with two tempting new burgers.
The Truffler (£13.95) features a Beyond Meat patty topped with irresistible truffle ‘cheese’ sauce alongside portobello mushroom, truffle ‘mayonnaise’, crispy onions and lettuce.
There’s also the Cali Cheese (£13.25) which is comprised of a Beyond Meat patty smothered with vegan cheddar, complemented with roasted garlic ‘aioli’, smoked tomato ketchup, red onion, pickle and lettuce.
Diners can wash down their summer feast with refreshing cocktails including a Peach & Basil Cooler, a Bright & Stormy and a Salted Lime Margarita, as well as a range of beers from Brooklyn Brewery and Camden Town Brewery.
In a statement sent to Vegan Food & Living, Sophie Michell, Byron’s newly-appointed Food & Drink Director, commented: “We know that our diners are often keen for lighter alternatives when the warmer months kick in and our new summer menu ticks all the boxes. The new vegan burgers are the most exciting part, you have classic summer flavours in the Cali Cheese (inspired by California) and all-out decadence in the Truffler.
“We designed them to be enjoyed by committed vegans and people who just want to cut down on their meat consumption, without compromising on flavour. The lollipops are simply good fun, they are made by a small artisan producer, they are 100% natural and are a light, cooling finish to the meal. Byron has always been a supporter of small UK brands and I would like to continue that tradition”
Last summer, Byron became the UK’s first high-street restaurant chain to offer customers the chance to enjoy a decadent vegan freakshake milkshake in a variety of flavours such as Vegan Strawberry Milkshake and Vegan Brownie.
The Summer menu is available from 18th June at all Byron restaurants.
