Burger lovers rejoice as Burger King UK has announced a mouth-watering Katsu Curry range, including two new vegan katsu burgers.
Putting a tasty twist on its popular plant-based Whopper and Royale burgers, they come topped with a bunch of tasty new toppings.
Packed with flavour, the vegan Katsu Chilli Whopper features Burger King’s signature plant-based Whopper patty with chilli sauce, crispy onion, pickled slaw, and katsu curry sauce.
For those who prefer Burger King’s meat-free Royale burger, the Katsu Vegan Royale comes complete with katsu sauce, pickled slaw, crispy onion, and a signature vegan mayo.
The vegan katsu burgers are served up in Burger King’s trademark golden bun and finished with a sprinkling of sesame seeds.
Meat-free options that taste almost identical
In a statement sent to Vegan Food & Living, Katie Evans from Burger King UK said: “We know Katsu curry is one of the nation’s favourite flavours, so we can’t wait for people to try these twists on our classic Whopper and Royale.
“We’re promising new specials that max on flavour, with vegan and vegetarian options that taste almost identical.”
Where to buy Burger King’s vegan katsu burgers
Burger King’s katsu range will launch in participating restaurants from 8th March where they will be available until September 2022, so you’ll have to be quick if you want to get a bit of the action!
However, if you can’t wait until the 8th to give them a try, they’re available to order now exclusively available via the Burger King app.
Moreover, if you order any burger from the Katsu range via the app before the 7th of March, you can get a second burger to enjoy for free!

In 2021, Burger King became the first fast-food chain in the UK to add vegan nuggets to the menu.
Burger King’s plant-based menu
The new vegan Burger King options come as the fast-food chain embarks on a green future by providing more vegan and veggie meals and serving up less beef as part of a strategy to curb its carbon footprint.
Earlier this year, Burger King announced its impressive plan to make 50% of its menu plant-based by 2031 by veganising classic meat dishes.
In 2021, it launched a Vegan Society-certified Vegan Royale burger and bought back its popular plant-based Rebel Whopper to give more choice to customers wanting meat-free options.
Proving a hit with customers, the chain also recently expanded its vegan menu to include vegan chicken nuggets made in collaboration with The Vegetarian Butcher.
