Queen legend Brian May has urged his three million Instagram followers to ditch meat from their diets.

The guitarist, who frequently uses his platform to speak about animal rights, recently shared an article on how the Earth will soon be ‘unrecognisable’ due to climate change.

‘Radical change’

“We need a radical change in our priorities, and we need it now,” Brian captioned the post.

“Probably the most effective thing we can do as individuals right now is cut out meat from our diets. And strangely enough, that’s the best thing we can do for our health, too. And the best thing for lessening cruelty to animals.

“Seems like a no-brainer – right ? Don’t think it’s possible? The second best thing would be to cut our consumption of meats right down. How about it?

The star added: “If everybody did this, it WOULD make our children’s future look brighter”.

Is Brian May vegan?

Brian has been very vocal about his journey with veganism, after taking part in Veganuary back in 2020. However, it is not confirmed whether the celeb still follows a 100 percent plant-based diet.

When the Covid pandemic hit, the star told NME people should reexamine the impact of eating animals.

He said: “That’s a central issue here, this pandemic seemed to come from people eating animals and it’s becoming more well known that eating animals is not the greatest thing for our health.”

“But to go vegan was just a decision, and I haven’t been preachy about it, but now we’ve seen more of the effects of how eating animals has brought us to our knees as a species, I think it’s time to re-examine our world in a way that doesn’t abuse other species.

“Whether we will see that happen, I don’t know, but I think I will start to be a bit more preachy about veganism because to me it is the way forward, in so many ways.”

Brian May is just one of many famous people who no longer eat meat. See for yourself in our guide to vegan celebrities.
