A brand new vegan coffee shop is set to open its doors in South London in the first week of February, and they have aspirations to be the best coffee shop in the area.
Croydon is about to get a brand new vegan coffee shop when the Coffee Shotter opens its doors in early February. The shop is set to open at 71 High Street, in an area that’s becoming “Croydon’s coffee corner”.
Speaking about his decision to open a vegan coffee shop, owner Farouk Deen told local news outlet the Croydon Advertiser: “We feel that there needs to be more options for vegan food in general. I’m not a vegan, but members of my company are. We always look at it as a unit and we have vegans and vegetarians who feel conscientious about it.
“One of the things that we’re keen to look at is that this is just good food whether you’re a meat eater or not – a sandwich is a good sandwich, which is what we’re looking to provide along with the best coffee, or something sweet.”
The coffee shop will be offering customers a wide range of sandwiches, curry, salads and calzones to accompany their hot beverages. Not only that, they will also be selling doughnuts from Be Right Bake too.
High-Quality Coffee
Farouk is particularly excited about his business’s supplier and its coffee machine.
He said: “We’re opening the shop firstly to increase the quality of south London’s coffee. We’re going very high end. We’ve got aspirations to be the very best coffee shop in south London.
“We’re working with Horsham Coffee Roaster, which has ethically sourced coffee where the money spent on the beans goes straight to the African and Indian farmers who grow it.
“We’ve gone for top quality local British suppliers who take care about where they source their food. We want to show our attention to detail and care, making sure we champion British independent companies.

Opening Soon
Coffee lovers will have to wait for another few weeks for the shop to open to get their caffeine fix as the team are in the final stages of decorating the shop.
Farouk said: “We’re in the midst of building the shop and I’m literally waiting for my plaster to dry at the moment!”
