Adesse, meaning to be present, will focus on the here and now.

Kenney and his team have weaved the concept of ‘presence’ throughout the restaurant with its locally and seasonally sourced menu.

The plant-based menu will feature imaginative interpretations of traditional dishes, alongside Matthew Kenney Cuisine’s namesake classics.

To start, Adesse offers a range of delightful plates, including its Jackfruit “Crab Cake” with Smoked Red Pepper Remoulade.

In addition, guests can choose a selection of sharing plates, such as Kimchi Dumplings with Foamed Ginger, as well as a Flora Tree Nut Cheese Plate featuring vegan Black Truffle, Smoked Cheddar cheese.

Next, mains will feature spicy udon served with togarashi and seared tempeh, or why not choose the raw courgette and tomato lasagne?

Finally, Adesse offers a range of indulgent plant-based desserts to finish your dining experience.

Diners can tuck into dishes including Hibiscus Cheesecake, Chocolate and Salted Caramel Crunch, and even a Coconut + Banana “cream pie”.

Selfridges’ Project Earth campaign

The launch of Adesse takes place as part of Project Earth, Selfridges’ sustainability initiative and commitment to change the way we shop and eat.

London’s iconic department store will focus on offering more meat-free and plant-based options across its restaurant and Foodhalls.

In a statement made to Vegan Food & Living, Alex Gilmour, Head of Restaurants at Selfridges, says: “One of the best ways we can improve both our health and the environment is to adopt a more plant-based diet.

“We’re delighted to introduce Matthew Kenney’s concept with its fresh take on plant-based dining and menu that aligns with our values of offering more planet-friendly food.”

Furthermore, reservations for Adesse can now be made via Selfridges in preparation for the launch on 2nd December.
