There has never been so much choice for those who eschew animal products, and for those who want to enjoy the tastes and textures of meat without the cruelty, there is now an abundance of realistic plant-based alternatives to choose from.

From burgers to steaks, mock meats have never been more accessible, and Swedish brand Oumph! is releasing some tempting new products in Sweden in time for summer BBQs including vegan ‘ribs’, burgers and mince.

A spokesperson for the company confirmed to Vegan Food & Living, that Oumph!’s new burger will launch in Sweden on May 6th and will be available to purchase in the UK and Ireland at the end of June.

In a statement sent to Vegan Food & Living, Oumph! described the new products saying: “The Oumph! Burger is a premium plant-based burger with a perfect bite, inspired by a juicy rare burger, with the big difference being that the Oumph! Burger is made with entirely plant-based ingredients, and the fine red colour comes from beetroot.

“Oumph! Mince is a plant-based mince which is perfect for making your own plant-based meatballs, burgers and creating classic bolognese style sauces for pasta dishes. Or why not make a delicious veggie chilli that is perfect for tacos.

“And Sticky Smokehouse Oumph! are rib-like fillets, covered in a richly flavoured sticky, smoky barbecue sauce. A winner for your BBQ party. All three new Oumph! Products will be launched soon in both retail and foodservice throughout the Nordic countries, as well as in the UK and Ireland.”

Butlins

Butlins has recently added vegan meat alternatives from Oumph! to its menu to give vegans more options when staying at the company’s seaside resorts. Diners staying at Butlin’s Minehead and Bognor Regis Resort can now choose plant-based options from Oumph! as a vegan topping on the Traditional Tacos as well as the House Cobb Salad.

Oumph!’s range of products is currently available to purchase in 400 Tesco stores and all Whole Foods Markets in UK.

Oumph’s vegan ‘ribs’ will launch in Sweden from May 6 in ICA, Bergendahls and Axfood stores.
