Asda unveils its vegan Christmas food range for 2023, with 57 new plant-based options

Asda has unveiled its impressive vegan Christmas range for 2023 with a whopping 57 brand-new vegan products coming to stores this winter.

UK supermarket Asda has kicked off the Christmas festivities as it reveals all the tasty new plant-based products joining its vegan Christmas range 2023.

As the cost of living continues to rise, Asda promises to deliver its customers quality products at affordable prices with affordable luxury and a focus on amazing taste at the heart of this year’s range.

Ensuring that no one misses out this Christmas, Asda is launching a whopping 57 new vegan and 35 new Free From products. Plus, for the first time, the Vegan Society approved OMV! range will have a festive makeover with innovative new dishes such as a OMV! Whole No Turkey, OMV! Mushroom Pigs in Smoky Aubergine Bacon and OMV! Strawberry Trifle.

Revealing the supermarket’s festive range for 2023, Asda’s Senior Director of Food innovation and Trends, Jonathan Moor, said: “We have worked hard to push innovation this year, introducing plenty of alternative centrepiece options to promote inclusivity for those preferring something a little less ‘traditional’.”

Vegan Christmas mains

OMV! Oyster & Porcini Mushroom Wellington

Asda is ensuring meat-free mains are the star of the show this Christmas with the brand-new OMV! Oyster & Porcini Mushroom Wellington.

This delightful vegetable-centric festive centrepiece is made with white and oyster mushrooms bound with pea protein and topped with a rich chestnut and porcini mushroom duxelles and encased in a flaky puff pastry.

Vegan desserts

OMV! Strawberry Trifle

This year, the supermarket has released a showstopping vegan dessert fit for a Christmas table in the form of the new OMV! Strawberry Trifle.

Containing all the elements of the classic dessert, Asda’s vegan trifle features layers of sponge, tangy strawberry compote is made from whole strawberries, dairy-free custard and is finished with a lentil and coconut cream.

It’s a great alternative to Christmas cake for those who want something a little bit different for dessert.

OMV! Crumble Topped Vegan Mince Pies

This year, Asda is putting a twist on the classic mince pie by finishing its vegan version with a crunchy crumble topping.

These indulgent pies are filled with a a fruit-packed vegan mincemeat and topped with cinnamon and ginger spiced crumble for a modern twist on a festive classic.

They’re perfect with a glass of mulled wine – even Santa would agree!

OMV! Double Choc & Honeycomb Cake Pop Bites

Another scrumptious treat joining the vegan lineup are the delightful Double Choc & Honeycomb Cake Pop Bites.

Luxurious and decadent, these cake-based truffles have a rich and dense chocolatey centre, studded with crunchy honeycomb pieces and coated in Belgian dark chocolate.

To give them a touch of sparkle, they’re finished off with rose gold lustre for a festive flourish.

When is Asda’s vegan Christmas range available?

Although the supermarket has teased us with a first look at the range, Asda is yet to announce the availability and pricing for its vegan Christmas range.
