We have some cheesy news for you today – Applewood Vegan is going global!
After the roaring success of its plant-based alternative, Applewood has decided to take its vegan cheese offering global – already prepped to launch in Canadian food retailers and on European restaurant menus.
The dairy-free cheese will soon be available to purchase from major Canadian supermarket Loblaws, Denningers Foods of the World in Ontario, and Pusateri’s Fine Foods and Longos stores in Toronto.
Applewood Vegan will also be arriving at vegan restaurant Eden Jazz in Copenhagen soon.
The smoky vegan cheese, which was a collaboration between Applewood and VBites, launched in Asda last October and sold out in 40% of stockists on the day of release – causing a vegan cheese frenzy.
The success of the vegan block prompted a sliced version to become available shortly after and was picked up by other retailers without much hesitation.

Since then, the brand has collaborated with vegan brands to create a cheeseburger pizza, launched a second spicy cheese alternative, and even created a festive vegan cheese board.
“Word is spreading across the pond”
Lisa Harrison, senior brand manager for Applewood Vegan said: “We are thrilled to get our first orders for [the cheese] outside the U.K just shortly after we celebrated the first year since the launch of the award-winning cheese.
“The word is spreading across the world that Applewood Vegan really is the tastiest of plant-based cheeses. It melts and tastes like traditional cheese and is a truly healthier option. We are confident that these will be the first of many international orders.”
We think Applewood Vegan will be a huge success across the pond, but we hope they keep giving us more cheesy products here in the UK!
