Applewood, a cheese company which has been producing traditional dairy cheese for more than 56-years, recently launched its first-ever vegan cheese in collaboration with VBites on 23rd September in 235 Asda stores, and it’s proven so popular that it has expanded its listing to 470 stores up from its 235 initial stockists.
According to the Norseland-owned brand, sales of the smoked vegan cheese “continue to rocket” with people desperate to get their hands on the dairy-free cheese that “melts beautifully.”
Asda is currently the exclusive stockist, but the brand is now in talks with other retailers about roller out the product to more stockists to make it easier to get your hands on.
“The success of Applewood Vegan has defied all expectations since it was launched,” an Applewood spokesman told The Grocer.
“The word spread so rapidly on social media that 40% of all stores sold out of Applewood Vegan on day one.”
