Budget supermarket Aldi UK has expanded its meat-free range to include high-protein vegan quarter pounder burgers.
Hot on the heels of the launch of Aldi’s new vegan range from Mae’s Kitchen which includes treats such as sausage rolls, chick’n burgers and ‘beef’ burgers, the supermarket is expanding its range to include another new plant-based patty that’s perfect for summer BBQ’s.
Priced at £1.99 for a pack of two, the meatless burgers are part of the supermarket’s new own-label plant-based range, I Am Vegan, and are reportedly made with soya and pea protein and flavoured with smoked salt to give them a chargrilled and smoky flavour.
They also contain over 20g of protein and less than 3g of saturated fat making them a great option for those looking to replace a meat burger with a healthier option.
In a statement, Managing Director of Buying at Aldi, Julie Ashfield, said: “The launch of I Am Vegan is in response to the growing popularity and appetite for vegan options amongst our customer base.
“We continue to review our range to ensure that it meets the needs of our customers and we look forward to expanding it even further over the coming months.”
“The new burgers will be available in all stores nationwide, so why not head in-store and try them for yourself!”
