Budget retailer Aldi has just launched over 20 new vegan products this Veganuary, but that’s not the only exciting thing coming to stores this January!

Inspired by the popularity of Subway’s vegan Meatball Marinara sub, the supermarket is getting set to launch its own version that it says is “delicious enough to convert all hungry lunch shoppers once the clock strikes twelve.”

Containing all the elements of the classic Meatball Marinara sub, Aldi’s meat-free version features plant-based meatballs in a lightly spiced tangy tomato marinara sauce topped with dairy-free gouda cheese and wrapped in a pillowy soft white deli roll.

The new Meatless Marinara sub is a delicious lunch option for those taking part in Veganuary this year as well as those looking for more on-the-go options as it packs a protein punch with 36 grams per pack and can be eaten hot or cold.

According to Aldi, “this sandwich ticks all the boxes for tastiness and convenience, without the need for meat or a hefty price tag” as it costs just £1.99 compared to Subway whose vegan Meatball Marinara sub costs £2.99 for a 62 sub.

Sounds like something you can’t wait to try? You’ll have to be quick as Aldi’s Meatless Marinara sub is only available for two weeks as a Specialbuy from January 14th.

Aldi’s Meatless Meatball Marinara is available in stores from the 14th January.
